A Sunnyside Pennsylvania Exclusive
I’ve learned a few things over the years as a medical marijuana patient and working in the cannabis industry. One of those things is that almost all strains of cannabis are Hybrids, but there are Hybrids that deliver powerful results and Hybrids that are, shall we say, mid.
Freaky Raffiki is one of them.
If the name alone doesn’t make you want to rush out and try this delicious Hybrid by Cresco, then perhaps the fact that it is a Sunnyside* exclusive?
Either way, marketing got the best of me. I had to try it. This is no surprise as I work in marketing and even I, with knowledge of marketing’s lure, couldn’t resist.
I’m glad I did not.
Aroma
Freaky Raffiki comes from a lineage that reads like cannabis royalty.
Freaky Raffiki is a cross between Funky Pine and Grease Monkey. I was familiar with Grease Monkey as it is a mix of GG4 and Cookies and Cream. With GG4 and Cookies and Cream running through Freaky Raffiki’s veins, which is funny cause both plants and humans have them, it is no wonder that upon first drag, it unveiled a symphony of sweet citrus notes that tickled my tongue.
The aroma was pleasing and not overpowering. Many strains, particularly in vape form, can sometimes have that overpowering processed stench which, as a self-proclaimed flower snob, can be off-putting.
Upon initial drag, I immediately tasted an appealing rush of smooth cannabis vapor that had a subtly sweet flavor. I can see the GG4 shining through, so if you love GG4 (and who doesn’t?) you’ll love Freaky Raffiki.
Effects
Taking a long 12-second blinker from my Puffco Plus dab pen, I felt the rip surge through my body like a bolt of lightning. While this is a Hybrid, it certainly did not waste ANY time with its effects.
Freaky Raffiki, or The Freak as I now call it, delivered immediately with a potent punch! Back of the head sweats began as I felt my shoulders begin to melt away like butter.
With my neck, shoulders, and now lower back melting away into my comfy couch, I took another 12-second pull.
If one is good, two is better.
The Freak showed no mercy.
This time, my body had reached complete relaxation and the deepest depths of bliss as my mind begged me to pick up a pen and begin writing.
While the Freak will laugh at you with each pull as though it is itself a masochist and gets off watching you fade out, it does offer a flame of inspirational fire. My mind whirled with ideas with each puff, yet not in an ADD way, but in a focused, “let’s get shit done” way.
Flavor Profile
Myrcene, Limonene, and caryophyllene are the main terpenes that weaved a tapestry of flavors that danced over my tongue. They are also the main contributors to the body buzz and tranquil groove.
There was a citrus zest and a slight hint of spice with each pull, much akin to GG4: one of Freaky Raffiki’s parent strains.
Since this is a Live Resin, I expected a flavorful vaping experience; however, the Freak takes it to a new level of bliss.
