Outlaw by Floracal

From Seed to Shelf

In the swirling haze of California’s cannabis scene, Floracal Farms has emerged as a beacon of authenticity.

In 2014, founders Karen and Drew Duval started a cannabis company in Sonoma County, California in hopes of developing a cannabis company that prioritizes the rigorous and sacred cultivation process.

From cultivation to trim, Floracal emphasizes the natural growth process of cannabis throughout delivery, ensuring your flower is naturally grown, trimmed, and meets the highest quality standards.

With their cannabis grown by Cresco Labs, I knew I was going to get a high-quality level of cannabis flower, but also wanted to taste for myself the quality standards set forth by Floracal Farms. I wanted to see if I could taste the benefits of this “seed to shelf” process as well as take on the strain Outlaw.

Editor’s note: Outlaw on Leafly, a leading source is cannabis strains and effects, has the strain Outlaw listed as a Sativa. https://www.leafly.com/strains/outlaw

That said, when purchased from Sunnyside Dispensary, they had this one listed as an Indica. https://www.sunnyside.shop/

Either way, we’re going to find out!

Let’s Get Loud with the Outlaw by Floracal.

Aroma

While I do my due diligence when researching strains, I also love surprises. So having noticed the differences in strain labeling, I decided to take this one as blindly as possible.

I didn’t look at the terpene percentages nor the total THC count until after use.

Upon initial whiff and with Outlaw’s aroma wafting forth, I felt as if this was certainly Indica-leaning at the very least. It didn’t have the same pine, earthy, spicey scents commonly associated with a Sativa which commonly have higher levels of pinene or limonene.

A Sativa commonly has a “diesel” smell to it, but Outlaw was the complete opposite. It was gentle in its delivery with a more seductive allure, but you were certainly aware of its presence.

Think Keanu Reeves.

That said, there was a soft aroma about Outlaw, almost calming my mind from the moment I opened the jar. It beckoned me to breathe in its soft, yet richly enticing scent.

This one has some perfume!

Flavor Profile

Outlaw, much like its aroma, is soft to the pallet. Outlaw delivers a smooth smoke, and it is perfect for those nighttime Netflix binges.

There was a citrus overlay with sublet hints of earthy velvet. It was a true flavor of all-natural herb with those slight notes.

Another bonus to Outlaw was the munchies and dry mouth, two common side effects of marijuana, which were mild if felt at all. I didn’t need to slurp down water or have a bag of cookies on hand to quell the muchies monster.

Effects

I discovered Outlaw by Floracal, at least with this batch, was certainly Indica leaning. Coming in at a whopping 36.31% THC, I had “high” expectations for this one.

That said, I will admit that while I do have a medical consumer’s tolerance, this one took two bowls worth to reach the normal medicated level that I normally like to reach.

While this is a potent Indica, medical users may find themselves needing a bit more than their usual dose to reach their desired high.

Normally, I value Indica strains for their heavy sedating properties, and Outlaw did deliver. On the second helping, I found myself slouched heavily in my bed fighting the overwhelming urge to let the weight of my eyelids come crashing down, silencing the light to my eyes for the night.

In the end, Outlaw leaves a mark as a smooth operator in the world of cannabis.

Outlaw by Floracal was a great, smooth smoke. I enjoyed the flavor and aroma and while my initial serving didn’t deliver the “in da couch” feeling we commonly associate with an Indica, the second bowl most certainly did.

I recommend this one for nighttime use or for when you’re looking for those groovy Indica-associated effects without being too heavily sedated.

If you’re trying to stay awake for a Netflix marathon or star gazing, skip this strain.

Again, if you are new to the world of medical marijuana, always go low, start slow, but always…

LIVE LOUD!
